I finally got around to watching the Burberry s/s 10 collection video. I was drooling by the end of it. The clothes look so much better in motion. Bailey was obvisously inspired to use as many beautiful textures as possible. From ruffles, to gems, and to metallics, it was all wonderful.

Witches, or girls inspired by them, have been popping up quite a bit in editorials. I’m very inspired by them at the moment. The mystique, power and confidence is beautiful. The most recent editorial I saw that embodies the magical vibe is “Witches, Wizards, and Magic” in the Winter 2009 issue of i-D. The title of the editorial says it all. Hopefully this trend will transcend onto the runways. I would love to see Marc Jacob’s or Tisci’s interpretation.

Today I was suffering Magazine withdrawal. I had promised myself not to buy any new magazines until the current school term was over, but of course like the magazine addict I am I couldn’t hold out. So I rushed over to Universal News after school. However the new Vogues I was expecting had not arrived yet. I didn’t know what to do. I needed a new magazine, I could not leave the store without one. Luckily Bon popped out on the self and saved me from my panic.

The Fall Winter 2009 issue of Bon is dedicated to Sex, and features Ali S on the cover. The contents are jammed packed. There are features on Haider Ackermann, Rick Owens, artist Paul McCarthy, and other amazing people. However, it is not the subject matter that of Bon that impresses me most, it’s the vibe of the magazine. It became clear the moment I started reading Bon that this magazine has the coolest staff. While reading the editor’s letter the smile on my face just got bigger and bigger. Bon magazine is cheeky and full of wit. I highly recommend it.

It sounds odd when you say it out loud, but yellow and blue look absolutely amazing together, especially in the hands of Marc Jacobs. I first noticed Marc’s gift with the two colors at his spring summer 09 show. Now in the Fall 09 ad campaign model Kamilla sports a large yellow coat and shocking electric blue eye shadow. The look just has a certain spark and is so much fun.

So I have a thing for Effy Stonem, a character from the british tv show Skins. Played by actress Kaya Scodelario, Effy is the girl everyone wanted to be or be with in high school. She’s reckless, mysterious, and at times trashy, but always looks gorgeous doing so.  Effy dons perfect smoky eye makeup, that makes her eyes look so stunning  and seductive. It’s as though the stylists who work on Skins work tirelessly on Effy’s look, and every other character is just an after thought. Yet Effy’s look is effortless and cool. So props to Kaya, the stylists, and the creators of Skins, who brought this amazing character into my life.
