Chanel Fall Winter 2006

I feel this collection goes perfectly with trends that are hot right now. It is full of this rock chic essence. At first glance the collection seems so young at heart, but at further inspection you realize how formal the pieces could be. Any woman of any age could wear these pieces. Karl made great use of leather, and sheer materials. I loved the slouchy dresses (like the one seen above on Daria), it was so effortless chic.

The hair and make-up was extraordinary. All the girls looked so cool! I loved the black streaks and navy ribbons combo.

The accessories were to die for as always with Chanel. The gloves were perfect, especially the fingerless pair with a bow. The pantent leather tote at Chanel was born in this collection. There were the classic Chanel cuffs throughout the collection. The accessories that stole my heart however were the snake skin above the knee boots. Years later I’m still lusting over them.
Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci

I’m kicking myself for only now realizing how amazing Givenchy has been all these years.

Each collection on style.com is beautiful. Head Designer for the house Riccardo Tisci has added a romantic goth touch to the Givenchy clothes.

The house gets better with every collection. I can’t wait for Spring Summer Couture.

My favorite collections from Tisci are Fall Winter 2008, and Spring Summer 2009. However, at the moment I am memerised by the Lace make-up from the Spring Summer 2006 couture. I really wish I could find better photos of it.
Dolce and Gabbana

Dolce and Gabbana has been pretty bad lately. So here is a collage to remember the good old days.
Rodarte
Rodarte is my label of the season. Last season I was all about Alexander Wang. This season it’s all about Rodarte. Their dresses seem so whimsical, yet strong and confident at the same time. I love the chain detailing, and exoskeleton looks in the S/S09 collection. However F/W0809 remains my favorite collection from them. The tights, the shoes, the sheer pieces were fantastic. I loved it all, especially their use of the color red.
For those of you who are interested, there are some lovely photos on rodarte.net as well.
