Spikes

I couldn’t think of a good name for this post. I love these three images though. First two scans from TFS, last one made by me.
I’m a litte over the Kate Lanphear hype (because I’m sick of her face in every single fashion week coverage I’ve seen this Fall 0910 season), but I’m still ridiculously in love with her jewelry. Photo from Jak&Jil.
Bryant Park

photos by me ( I don’t know why the Karlie pic came out so small)
Bryant Park was okay this year. It was cold, I was sick, and my favorite magazine shop was closed so I had no where to hang out while waiting for shows to end.
Anyway the whole Model Stalking, as I like to call it, was not as exciting as usual. My first year I was happy to just see one nameless model. But now that I live in NYC 24/7, I see models everyday. Big ones too. So going to Bryant Park to see them again wasn’t as exciting as usual. I stuck around for about two hours just to get some street style photos (which I posted on the Model Street Style thread on TFS).
Anyway, enough of my bitching.
My thoughts on New York Fashion week thus far. I feel Alexander Wang redeemed himself. Rodarte was a dream as always. William Rast was a disappointment, as was Rag and Bone. Everything else was a bit of a disaster. All the collections seem to be trying to be very mature, or trying to bring back the 80’s. Neither of which are fun to look at.
I bought the new Vogue Italia with Pixie on the cover. Now before you crucify me, let me say that it’s actually a good issue. There’s some great styling within the issue. So I felt it was a good buy. I also feel like the March issues aren’t getting out fast enough. It’s completely unacceptable that I can’t find W March or Dazed and Confused anywhere.
Other random thoughts;
I really want to see the rest of this Vogue Korea Editorial from October,
let’s live fast (wordpress)
I also want to know where Kate Lanphear got this bag,
Jak & Jil (please excuse the hideous shoes)
The Most Wonderful Time of Year

I love this editorial from Harper’s Bazaar March 2009. It was the only decent editorial to come out of that issue to be honest. And why the hell didn’t I see this Calvin Klein dress on the runway?
Well it’s Fashion Week! I’m so happy. I have big plans this weekend. I’m attending the Chictopia party tonight. I even got a new belt and boots for the occasion. The belt I’m really happy about, it’s a gold chain link belt with intertined leather, just like Chanel really. I just had to take some extra chains off it. Anyway you can go get it for yourself at Urban Oufitters.
Tomorrow I’m heading to Bryant Park to get some Model Street Style pictures. I always love Fashion Week in New York. No matter what part of the city you’re in you know it’s Fashion Week. The models and fresh industry workers are out in droves. I just love being bombarded by so many chic people.
In other news I’m on the hunt for a nice blazer dress. But in the mean time I’ll lust over these items instead.

EDIT: Okay, I didn’t get in to the Chictopia party. Apparently Le Royale decided that at 10:30 they didn’t want to let anymore people under 21 in.
I’m pissed. I got dressed up, walked in the freezing cold, just to be told I can’t get into a party that I was excited to go to for a week. It’s bullshit.
Seeing Red
Jimmy Choo Shoe, Leather Vest seen on WWD.com, Forever21 Bag
I saw this vest on WWD and instantly fell in love. I need to get one for spring. Same goes for the Jimmy Choos. They’re sexy and rebelious. These items would make a perfect outfit with black cigarette jeans.

I don’t normally wear color items. It’s not like I go out shopping with the intention of only buying black white or gray items. It just happens. However I’m starting to really love the color red in fashion. It was of course Rodarte who turned me on to red. That dress on Coco during Fall Winter 2008 was a dream.

Sorry for the lack of update. School has been kicking my ass. Also I want to make sure that when I post it’s about something that really interests me.
