DIY and Weekend Finds
Last thursday I decided to do my first ever DIY fashion piece. For school I’ve been doing a lot of work involving splatter paint. It’s fun to just throw paint. Then I saw this photo on Hedi Silmane’s website.
It inspired me to make a splatter paint tunic.
Here’s my creation.
Materials:
Black (or any color you choose) Acrylic Paint. That’s what i used, but fabric paint is probably better.
Paint Brushes (duh) and water, and other painting supplies
A Fruit of the Loom tee, or any white or solid color tee
Instructions:
Just set out a lot of newspaper (I made a mess of my work room), and go wild swinging the paint on to the shirt. Make sure to paint from all angles, so the tee has even amounts of paint all over. Also be sure to give a enough time to allow the paint to dry on each side.
That’s pretty much it.
This weekend I also made a trip to the mall. There I went to this new store called Metro Park. It’s like an edgy Urban Outfitters. No hippie stuff, just rock. I got two accessories there.
This knock off Burberry necklace for 20 dollars:
And this Safety Pin Earring Set, Which reminded me of Tom Binns jewelry work.
I can’t wait to really rock all three all these items.
